Proton Bakeries has promised to
continue offering superior service to its customers, as the company introduces a new mega half loaf in the market today.
The baker’s Bulawayo depot
operations manager, Collen Mathaga, said the half loaf was exciting because it
offered the company an opportunity to add value for consumers.
“Our half loaf will come in
superior white and wholemeal brands with maintained quality. We have ensured
that we do not short change our customers by packaging the semi loaf with 13
slices for 50 cents, which can serve as an assurance to clients that our thrust
to foster integrity is still intact,” he added.
13 slices for a half loaf amounts
to over 50 percent more value when compared to other similar products on the
market.

Mathaga explained that due to a
challenging operating environment worsened by liquidity challenges, Proton
bakeries understood the need, by customers, to stretch every dollar.
“The half loaf is therefore
coming on as an addition to all our other products which we sell below a dollar,
leaving our customers with a chance to save.”
Proton sells its Jumbo bun at 50
cents, 4 pack buns at 50 cents and full loaf at 90 cents.
Mathaga said Proton bakeries
would continue engaging the community for ideas on how to improve while
maintaining programs to give back to the community such as school fees vouchers
for customers and other promotions which are run through local radio station
Skys Metro FM.
“We are still focused on providing
the highest service delivery and in line with that, our employee base has been
rising steadily as we increase our delivery fleet to enable us to efficiently
react to customer requests and improve on delivery times.”
“Although the operating
environment is challenging, we are trying to stay afloat and will continue
striving for excellence until we have fully satisfied the market,” he added. - Society 24
