THE Bulawayo West Police district
re-launched their client service charter on Saturday.
It was a day of pomp and funfare
which saw revered entertainment groups woo a generous gathering at Malaba
shopping centre in Njube, Bulawayo.
The police band, Churches aginst
crime, Imbongi and Iyasa took turns to fascinate an expectant crowd which devoured
all the action with insatiable zeal.
But the Proton road show stole
the scene while featuring in support of the police cause.
Continuously belting hit music,
the bread maker announced itself to the Njube community with an amusing display
punctuated by bakery giveaways and a wonderful dancing crew which held the crowd
in awe.
To the detriment of official
proceedings, the Proton show became a crowd puller, managing to entice the huge
gathering from the client service charter re-launch to their ever impressive
road show commandeered from a branded truck.
‘We are here to pioneer excellence’
was the message from the new Bulawayo pacesetters.
Well indeed, the music had to be
shut down for the programme to go on!
After the law-enforcers
celebrated their outstanding officials, vowing to provide diligent service to
serve and protect, Proton took over.
“I think Proton is wonderful
because they are always giving us more than bread,” said Xolisani Sibanda, a spectator
who confessed he had grown a soft spot for the bread makers.
Proton Bulawayo operations
manager, Collen Mathaga, confirmed this sentiment saying their vision was to forge
a long term relationship with the Bulawayo community which would prove mutually
beneficial.
“Our road shows are very popular
but we always strive to walk the talk so to complement the superior products we
supply at affordable prices, you can expect to see us supporting developmental
initiatives, similar to toady’s programme,” he added.
Mathaga implored people to visit
the Proton stand at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair where the company is
exhibiting this year.
This is a huge endorsement for
the fair which, in previous years, has been marred by apathy from companies
domiciled in Bulawayo.

crowd at Malaba shopping centre as the following pictures show...
